May 23-30, 2018  (This is peak Bear Season)

World famous Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are some of the most exciting places in the world to photograph landscapes and wildlife. This is a must see on any nature photographer's and wildlife lover's list. Join us as we explore this park and the surrounding areas.

The Greater Yellowstone ecosystem is a mountainous region bisected by the continental divide. Several peaks like Grand Teton are over 13,000 feet. Powerful geological forces created this landscape.

This is a great time to photograph baby animals and their families in the park. This is peak time for wildlife activity. This is the time of year where baby Bison, Elk, Bison, Moose, Coyote, Fox, Grizzly and Pronghorn are out searching for food. The predators are out looking for winter kills and on the hunt for food. A typical trip we will see several Wolves, Grizzly and Black Bears. Several species of birds are nesting. This trip will emphasize wildlife activity. We will be teaching wildlife identification and behavior and photo technique.

The landscape photography is incredible. Field of colorful flowers with snow capped mountains in the background. Lush green rivers and beautiful reflections,

These two parks are the premiere wildlife viewing areas in the US. Creatures great and small await us at almost every corner.

Our itinerary will be planned around recent wildlife activity, lighting, and weather conditions. We need to take advantage of the unique opportunities. Our goal is to see the beauty of the parks. Come and enjoy the autumn tranquility of this great ecosystem.

This is a great time of year and before the busy summer traffic.

John Slonina has been leading photo tours and workshops for several years at both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. He knows the backroads to find the elusive wildlife and landscapes. He has been studying and photographing wildlife for years.

Group Size:

Our group size is limited to six people which is substantially smaller than other tour companies. This will maximize learning and allow us to get closer to wildlife.

This offers several advantages.

Maximize Learning

Personalized one on one attention, critiques, and photography advice. Both in the field and in the classroom. I want to make sure you get the best shots while we are on location.

Better Access

We get much better access to remote areas than bus tours, day tours and car pools. There are several incredible places which only have room for one or two cars.

We will be traveling in one vehicle designed for wildlife viewing. We can access more remote areas and respond quicker to where wildlife has been spotted.

Our smaller groups allow a closer approach to wildlife. Larger groups makes animals more nervous.

Fitness Level:
This trip will involve some short flat walks. None of the hikes are long. Most of them are within sight of my tour van, so you do not have to be in great shape for this tour.

What's Included:
The hotels are included in this tour (7 nights stay). Single Occupancy.

Also included are gates fees and permits

We will be providing optional transportation to and from Jackson Airport.
