2027 Photo Tours and Workshops

Our 2027 photography tours and workshops span North America and cover a wide range of wildlife and landscape subjects throughout the year. Winter begins in Yellowstone with snowy landscapes and wildlife, followed by multiple bird-focused tours in Florida and Arizona during peak seasons. Spring brings opportunities to photograph the Northern Lights in Alaska, along with birds in the Southwest and the misty redwood forests and coastlines of California and Oregon.

Summer includes time on the Maine coast photographing puffins and seabirds, as well as additional Alaska trips focused on wildlife and dramatic scenery. In the fall, we return to Yellowstone and Grand Teton for wildlife and autumn color, followed by peak foliage in Maine and New Hampshire. The year wraps up in the Southwest with Zion and Bryce, where changing light and fall color add depth to canyons, rivers, and hoodoos.

All tours are instructional and designed for photographers of varying experience levels, with small groups and a 4:1 participant-to-instructor ratio that allows for individual attention in the field.

Space is limited, and many tours fill well in advance.

I am an Authorized Permittee of the National Park.

Yellowstone Winter:
Wildlife and Landscapes

Instructional Photo Tour and Workshop

January 5-13, 2027

Our Yellowstone Winter Photo Tour and Workshop focuses on wildlife, geothermal landscapes, and deep access into the park during its quietest season. With four full days traveling by private snowcoach and additional time in a private van, we spend extended time in Yellowstone’s interior and in Lamar Valley, allowing us to work with changing light, fresh snow, and active wildlife rather than rushing from stop to stop. From wolves and bison to steaming geysers, frozen waterfalls, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, this workshop offers a flexible, photography-first approach to Yellowstone in winter. March 6-13, 2027 (4 spaces left)

Photograph the magic of Alaska at night. In 2027, the solar cycle will be near its peak, so this is one of the best chances in years to see the Northern Lights at their brightest. We’ve planned the trip around the new moon for deep, dark skies that make the aurora stand out, and we’ve also built in a couple of nights with soft moonlight that adds shape and depth to the landscape. You get the best of both worlds: bold aurora against dark horizons and moonlit scenes glowing under the moving lights. John Chumack, a globally respected astrophotographer, will join as a co-leader.
